In 2015 & 2016, Jayson Porter helped bring a unique perspective to our organization. He used his background in research in order to develop activities and projects, which focused on inclusivity through music. He taught children to use instruments which have been used in Maya culture throughout millenia, but have fallen out of cultural tendency in the last generations. Although his rigor for research might be what looks best on paper, everyone at Ko’ox Boon believes that the most valuable thing about Jayson is his magical, enchanting presence, which always leaves us completely inspired.
